Smallest Street-Legal Car

Imagine driving a bumper car, like at the county fair, on the highway.

The Peel P50, build by Peel Engineering Company on the Isle of Man in the United Kingdom was built from 1962 until 1965.

The car was 53 inches long, 39 inches wide and only 53 inches tall. It weighed 130 pounds and was designed to carry one person and a shopping bag.

The car could drive up to 40 miles per hour, forward, but had no reverse gear. To turn around, you had to stop, pickup the car by the back bumper and turn it around!
